Update!!
We posted a few days ago about Buster joining the Canines in Crisis family. Hes such a sweet ole guy, so deserving of a good life.
Today, Buster was set to get his vetting complete, neuter..shots .etc. He was unable to get that done. The vet did an x-ray of Buster's leg, we thought it was an old break. Turns out it's not an old injury at all, just a few months, it's not a break, but his hip is completely dislocated. He will require surgery. Due to his age amputation is his best option because of the recovery for repairing it is rough & would take a lot of time..he's over 10 years old, he wants to get on with his life.
And we also found out on top of the hip/ leg problem Buster is heartworm positive and has been for a couple years.
And if that weren't enough he is also full of BBs.
This ole guy has had a rough life and up until now it doesn't appear that anyone cared about him at all.
Update!
Update on our senior dog Buster the Terrier mix rescued after 10 long yrs on a chain , Buster has settled into his awesome foster home and doing well with his new dog and cat friends in the home, hes learned he doesn't potty in the house ! Buster did have some issues with eating good quality food, after eating junk but has regained his appetite and putting some much needed weight on .
Buster came hw positive, along with a very old leg injury, when xrayed it was also found he had possibly been used as a target as many BBs were evident in the xrays , our vet has suggested in Busters best interest , the leg be removed , hes set for amputation the 19th of this month , and will start heartworm treatment !
Today Buster enjoyed a good bath, nail trim, and haircut , and all ready to get his hw treatment & surgery over with , so he can continue on living a happy healthy life !
Buster sends a Huge" Thank You " to all who donated to his care and made all this possible, including his wonderful foster mom Lori , that opened her home to Buster in his time of need , and showed him what true love and care is all about !
Please keep Buster in your prayers, and we will update after his surgery next week !
Update!
Just a quick update on Buster. He had his surgery today, they actually just finished the surgery a short time ago and Buster isn't even awake yet...but since I'm a very impatient foster mom when it comes to knowing how my foster kids are doing I couldn't wait. Since there was some concern with him being heartworm positive that he possibly wouldn't make it through surgery...But being the tough fighter that Buster is, he made it through surgery with no problems. His leg was amputated and he was neutered as well. Next he will be starting his heartworm treatment..his final battle to overcome.
Update!
Another Buster update..hes home & doing good. Better than me (foster mom) hes trotting around like nothing happened and Im cringing with every step he takes. His tail hasn't stopped wagging.
When hes ready for his forever home, I hope they realize what an awesome guy they're getting.
